URBAN PLUNGE 2008

This summer I had the privilege of going on a mission trip with our youth called Urban Plunge. I look so happy because the trip was a true encounter with Christ. It was an awesome experience. I am so proud of the adults and the youth I worked with. I wish I could put in words how profound this experience truly was!

During Urban Plunge, I learned many new skills. I can weatherize a roof, paint just about anything, and even tile. I did not try the power tools- saving that for next year!

Jr asked for tickets to see the Chicago Cubs play pro baseball for his birthday. He and daddy enjoyed two games and had a blast. Birthday wishes do come true!

Elizabeth, Ben, and Jr all won several awards this year. All three earned citizenship student and ran the equivalent to a marathon in jogging club. E and Jr also made the all A honor roll this nine weeks and were on the honor roll all year. We also found out Benjamin is reading on a first grade level so he is ready for next year!

Sadly for us, Mr C, Brooks' band director has the opportunity to go in a new direction in his music career. Brooks and his band mates as well as we parents will miss him tremendously.
